Disregard this post – it would be better if it can be fixed, it does not allow you to move forward on initial save because of the invalid values.

I figured out how to make this work, so no need to respond. Thanks!

Thank you so very much for this awesome solution! One question – is there a way, once you upload the files and they are attached, to have a button (like the magnifier) that allows you to open the file, instead of opening the document library item properties it is associated with? I love that there is a way to see the properties, but I would like to be able to view the file from there as well (particularly images). Is there a way to set this up from the open form of the parent list?

I did upload the file, the “weird” URL field is not working at all now, and I added a choice and multi lookup and the data is not going back and forth. I am using content types, and the fields do have the same names. I am using 2.203 of backend and 2.209 of frontend vLookup.

Your guide indicates to name the vLookup files for this specific process use an underscore in the name: https://spjsblog.com/vlookup-for-sharepoint/vlookup-user-manual/#Adding_children_from_NewForm

When I use the instructions above and go into the NewForm.aspx DFFS setup, and click on the vLookup tab, it says I cannot use vLookup in NewForm.aspx. Is that true for using this specific process, where I am doing the prefill? Do I need to add that receiver file, in addition to the DFFS setup in my NewForm to get it to work for prefill?

It says if I am using DFFS in the child I don’t have to use the receiver file, but when I go into the vLookup setup for the NewForm.aspx, my field is not listed. Also, when I add the “_” to the fields (EditForm), they don’t show up in vLookup, but when I remove it they do.

No errors. I am uploading screen shots of vLookup. The last field I have is a URL, which appears weird on the form when it renders. I don’t have any of the fields there that don’t work, but I can add some if that helps.

Thank you! I thought that was just used for when you didn’t use DFFS in the child list. I can definitely set that up, thanks!
