Highlight field when field value is modified

  Hello,
  
  Is it possible to highlight the fields that were modified on an item when saved? Ideally we would like users to be able to see the list of recently modified items, open them to read or edit and see the fields highlighted that were modified when the item was last saved. Currently working in SP 2013
