Fields misaligned in Display Form

I’m completely baffled at what I’m seeing. Attached are a series of screen shots illustrating the issue. On the Edit form, the fields are aligned (picture 1). However, on the Display form, the fields in the second column are offset by different amounts (picture 2), e.g. “Storms” horizontally aligns to the right of “Projects”, and “Other” horizontally aligns near the end of “Storms”.

Pictures 3 and 4 show the what regions of the first and second columns look like in Chrome Dev Tools.

No custom CSS is defined. Looking for help understanding why the second column entries are not uniformly left-aligned. How to correct?

I appreciate any help.
