Hi – found some articles below and was curious if the DFFS Send email capability will be impacted by all of the upcoming Microsoft retirements / End of Life chamges coming in 2026.

We are preparing many of out sites and workflows for possible retirement next year in oue enterprise and wondering about the long-term impact if we continue to use DFFS send email vs. workflows to send emails.

Hi,
I’m aware of this deprecation and will have other options available in time.It will basically mean that emails configured in the DFFS configuration will be sent by the logged in user and not the “system account” like today.
An alternative will be to write the email to a custom list where a Power Automate FLOW can be created to pick up and send the email.
A third option that I might add support for is to use “send on behalf of”, but for this to work all users would have to be granted “send on behalf of” permissions for a “service account” that is used to send the emails.
Not sure if the third option will be something that a typical IT-department would allow – what do you think?

Hi Alexander – thank yuou very much. Just saw your response and didn’t get a notify even though I tagged it. We are moving to Power Automate / Power Apps in the future, but that’s about a year away. 3rd option would not be an option as that be very hard to maintain for the number of sites and number of users / recipients we have across site. We may just go back to using 2013 workflow emails for now.

Hi,
Not sure why you wasn’t alerted – the email sending seems to be OK.I’ll include the two first options as s first release – probably within a few weeks from now so you can test it.
I figured the third option would be a bit more complicated to get implemented so I’ll wait until there is demand for it.
Best regards,

Hi,
I found that the email you had on your user was the old domain for your company – I have changed it to the new so you should receive email notifications again.Alexander
