Open child file link in new window

We have a form with supporting documentation added as child files. These child files use FileLeafRef to provide a hyperlink to the document in the child list. When the user clicks on the link, the file (possibly picture or PDF or Word Doc) opens in the same window. Once they return to the form they have lost any other changes made before viewing the supporting documentation.

Is here a way to force file links to open in a separate window?

Hi,
Sorry for the delayed answer. I tested clicking on the “FileLeafRef” and images,PDF’s and word documents open in a new window / tab and does not take over the current window.

If you mean the “view or edit” icons, these can be forced to open in a new dialog in the “Open links in new dialog box” setting in “misc” section in vLookup backend.
