Hi Alexander,
Do you know if the below will affect existing DFFS forms on classic SharePoint sites?
– If they carry on working “as-is”, do you think they will still be able to be updated (as they are already “installed”)
– Would you advise we upgrade to latest version before November? (probably worth being on latest version anyway!) but if something is not broken and works for years, I tend to leave it!Microsoft have announced that custom scripts in SharePoint sites and OneDrive will be retired by mid-November 2024 except for below site templates.
BLANKINTERNETCONTAINER#0 = Classic Publishing Portal site
CMSPUBLISHING#0 = Publishing Site
BLANKINTERNET#0 = Publishing Site
GROUP#0 = Group-Connected Team site
APPCATALOG#0 = App Catalog
CSPCONTAINER#0 = CSP ContainerMicrosoft have confirmed that existing custom scripts in existing SharePoint sites and OneDrive will continue to be executed as-is. We will no longer be able to add, modify or remove custom scripts (e.g., JavaScript) within OneDrive and SharePoint sites.
Web parts like Content Editor in classic sites and Script Editor in modern sites will no longer be available. Refer to this link to view all features, web-parts, settings that won’t work.
Cheers,

From what I have seen this will not affect Content Editor Web Parts that have already been added to a page.
This means that lists where DFFS has already been installed will not be affected, but installing DFFS to a new list will require that “scripting” is turned on in the site using the admin-center or PowerShell.
This setting will most likely be automatically reverted within 24 hours so in that case DFFS must then be installed on the new list in that 24-hour window.
Updating DFFS for lists that are already installed is not affected as this doesn’t require any modifications on the Content Editor Web Parts in the list forms.
This is the link to Microsoft’s article describing how to enable custom scripting: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/allow-or-prevent-custom-script
PS: The new modern DFFS version for SharePoint online is not affected – only the Classic version of DFFS.

Great info thank you Alexander.
Historically only had site collection admin rights for my clients, so perhaps can use the temp scripting via IT if I really needed to. Only legacy forms that I am concerned with if they stopped working so feel better.
Finally moved to using your modern SP Framework solution (when not using PowerApps) more recently.
