Ability to Freeze Columns Headings

I am not sure if this is possible or not or if there are ways around this.

I have been asked by a lot of my users – can we freeze the top row of the columns list when scrolling through all the records – like Excel.

My response so far has been, this is a web page, so it is not possible – but thought I would pose the question.

If it is possible to do this some way ?
