Not sure what that could be. Did you see any errors in the developer tools (F12 > Console)?

Also, does your list load with the “New modern UI” or the “Old modern UI”?

Did you try turning off “Sync” as described in the first post in this thread?

You can email me any screenshots or other information.

I reverted back to v1.0.64 which is the last version I had installed. That put DFFS back on the list menu and restored my form. This is on a production site, so I couldn’t afford to leave it on and troubleshoot. I will try and find a low traffic site I can put it on and see if I can help find the issue.

          Thanks Alexander! 🙂

I did forget to configure the DispForm with DFFS for the New List.

So NEW lists look to be okay!

I am still faced with this error as originally reported in my environment:

The “New” button in the Microsoft List UI does NOT work in any EXISTING list.

          Thanks for your patience.

Are you sure you have DispForm configured with DFFS for the list? – the title-click only opens DFFS if DFFS is configured.

Please note that it looks like the “Sync” feature must still be turned OFF for the command-set-extension to load – read more here.

The Title linked to item now works but the “New” button in the Microsoft List UI does not override the out of the box form with the Modern DFFS solution at least in my existing lists in my environment. See attached screenshot.

              Thanks,

                Hi Alexander! 🙂

Thanks so much for the new version of the Modern DFFS that fixes the problem with the new Modern UI that Microsoft have pushed on September 4, 2024.

The newest modern list UI stays on the list view, it does not revert back to the original modern ui. When I click the … menu of an item, I get this console error:

                  dffs-command-set_baa…afc9128cff82b7.js:2
                  Uncaught

I do have a workaround right now where if you click the checkbox next to the title of the item on the far left, you will then get the Edit button in the list navbar, and when you click the edit button there, you can view your item with Modern DFFS.

That’s all I have for right now, I will follow up as soon as I get more information.

Not sure why it did not work when you used a file, but based on the fact that you use the old JSLink installer, I assume you use an older version of DFFS. If you hover over the Enhanced with DFFS link below the form and click the License and version information link you can see the version numbers.

The SP Services license is an OEM license for the core functionality that they deliver. This means you cannot use that license for additional lists that are not part of the package delivered by SP Services.

If you want to use DFFS in additional sites you must purchase a site or site collection license.

                      Two things

1 – when an item is added via vLookup from the parent list to the child list, can it write back values to the originating item? I could create a power automate for this, but just curious.

2 – Is it possible to do nested vLookups and build nested tables? For instance, I have a Project list. From project list I create tasks in a task list via vLookup. From those tasks, I create subtasks in another list via vLookup. Each list I am passing down the Project parent _DFFSID and also standard SharePoint lookup column as well. I want to be able to configure the vLookup table in the Project parent list to show all tasks specific to the project, and then I want to be able to show all the subtasks that are specific to each task. How would be best to accomplish this? I’m not opposed to creating this in the CustomJS section if I need to if the information is available in an object.

Not sure maybe it’s a timing thing, but I doubt it. I’m on v1.0.64.

I have a site column that is a managed metadata column with a term set. Works fine. After I setup the list, if I go in and later add a new term to the term set, then the new terms will not appear as options when I click the tag icon in the form. If I close the form and edit the list in grid view and select the cell, I can see the new terms that way, but not in the DFFS form.

                        Hi,
I have 2 Lists such as List A and List B. List B is the child of List A. I have enabled the show totals in DFFS configuration, still I get it only on Disp Form and not on the Edit Form.

                          Hi Alexnader,

I have tried to create simple list with one column “Title” and problem is there as well.

I am using CZECH language settings in my web. Can be a problem?

This is simple newform configuration for my test list:

                          {“Pass”:null,”FormJSON”:”[{\”id\”:\”03521579742606673\”,\”type\”:\”grid\”,\”width\”:\”\”,\”widthUnit\”:\”px\”,\”style\”:\”\”,\”children\”:[{\”id\”:\”878376377000581\”,\”type\”:\”row\”,\”style\”:\”\”,\”children\”:[{\”id\”:\”1307542066348224\”,\”type\”:\”col\”,\”style\”:\”\”,\”size\”:{\”sm\”:12,\”md\”:12,\”lg\”:12,\”xl\”:12},\”children\”:[{\”id\”:\”9520748914991632\”,\”type\”:\”field\”,\”fin\”:\”Title\”,\”useCustomFieldLabel\”:false,\”useCustomFieldLabelMUI\”:false,\”fieldLabel\”:\”Title\”,\”labelPosition\”:\”left\”,\”labelStyle\”:\”\”,\”style\”:\”\”,\”fieldLabelMUI\”:{},\”fieldDescription\”:\”\”,\”fieldDescriptionMUI\”:{},\”useCustomFieldDescription\”:false,\”useCustomDescriptionMUI\”:false,\”childIndex\”:0}],\”childIndex\”:0}],\”childIndex\”:0}]}]”,”RulesJSON”:”[]”,”CustomJS”:null,”CustomCSS”:null,”Misc”:”{}”}

                            Hi,
I’m not able to recreate the problem where a vLookup table number field shows the “raw” data with 10 digits. Can you send me some screenshots of your config?

                            Regarding documentation for vLookup:
No, there is no separate documentation. The user manual shows some examples for vLookup – like how to get the list of items when the vLookup table has loaded. I’ll try to find time to update the documentation in the user manual with more information.

Regarding available functions you can use in Custom JS:
There are less built in functions you can access in the Modern DFFS version compared with the Classic DFFS version. This is because it is built as an SPFx solution using React, and the source files are not exposed in the global window-namespace.

The functions that are available are listed in this forum thread (linked from the user manual Custom JS section): https://spjsblog.com/forums/topic/custom-js-examples/

In addition you can – as you mention – use any custom code you write yourself interacting with other SharePoint lists using the REST API.

Regarding triggering rules from custom js:
The latest version (v1.0.65.0) added a new trigger in the rules section where you can create a rule that can be triggered from Custom JS. Please note that you cannot trigger any rules, but only the ones configured with this trigger.

yeah like for example, right now I have a vlookup table that’s bringing in a few calculated columns that output numbers. Even though I have the column in the list set to 2 decimal places, the vlookup table is loading them with like 10 decimal places. I don’t see a clear way on how to custom format those, so I’m just going to do it the old fashioned way with jQuery.

That’s not my best example though, it’d be more like understanding what functions are available inside what in classic would be called spjs.utility. Additionally, customjs dffs specific actions like setFieldValue, getFieldValue, etc. which I know exist, but I’m wondering what else exists that I’m not currently aware of without digging into the code itself and looking.

That kind of stuff, because for me rules are great, but I end up doing a ton of advanced stuff within customjs and I find myself often just writing things in jQuery when you probably have a shortcut script that already handles it already that I could leverage.

I’m trying to think of something even more specific… ok so referring to a few of my notes here, it looks like I’ve written down some things missing from Modern DFFS that I’m accustomed to in Classic DFFS. Triggering a specific rule from within a customjs function appears to not be part of Modern DFFS yet. I don’t see it in the user manual, but correct me if I’m wrong.

If your site is using https you must specify the baseurl using https if you specify the full url. In any case you should have it as a realative url like this:

                                "listBaseUrl": "/teams/XYZ",

It looks like the format of the code is a bit mangled so I’m not sure if there is anything else wrong.
