Save to child list from EditForm

I have some fields that are not populated until the EditForm is completed in an approval process. These fields are null in the NewForm but I would like these fields to populate the child list when the form is approved to update a status and decision. I don’t want the user to have to manually edit each child record since they will all be the same as the parent, so have configured these fields in the Prefill values in child section but they do not update the child list. What am I missing?

Sorry for the late reply – I’m currently on holiday and have limited access to Email / Internet.

The settings for Prefill values in child only applies to the first creation of a child record. To achieve what you want, you must use a custom script that runs on edit of the parent record.
