Read Only user fields problem

  I have a user field, if i put as a read only field in the edit form it is displayed empty. if i put it as visible it is correctly displayed.
  Our need is to display this field as read only in the edit form.
  In the debug mode the rule is succesfully executed and there is no JS error in the console
