Field not functioning as designed

I have an issue I hope you can help me with. I have an inquiry form that users submit to ask questions. There are two roles: Submitter and Responder. The Add a new comment field is used both by the submitter and responder. This Add a new comment field is not a required field for the submitter but is a required field for the responder and it’s a hidden field for the responder triggered by a drop-down field. The problem is the Add a new comment field is not displaying for the submitter. They have to select an option from the comment type drop-down field in order for the Add a new comment field to display. This is another problem because the comment type drop-down field should not display for the submitter. This is a hidden field for them. They should only see the Add a new comment field. Thanks

My guess is that you must use the “No reversing of this rule” setting on your rules to ensure they don’t reverse when they are evaluated to “false”.
